VEGAN GREEN PEA HUMMUS

PEA HUMMUS DIP

This... is possibly one of the few recipes that I would sit down on my own, possibly hiding from everyone else, with some carrot and cucumber sticks and a bowl of tortilla chips and munch away in secret!!
This recipe is really easy to make by all the family, just be careful with finger tipes and graters and take great care to ensure the lid is tightly on your blender jug!
Serve with tortilla chips, raw veggie sticks or in place of guacamole in wraps and tacos.

Equipment

  • grater, zester or microplane
  • citrus squeezer (hand held) or fork
  • blender - jug, nutribullet or stick / immersion
  • teaspoon and spatula / scraper
  • jar or container for storage
  • chopping board and small vegetable knife
  • coffee mug

Ingredients
  

  • 1 large coffee mug / 1.5 cups defrosted frozen peas (petit pois)
  • 1 zest of lemon or lime
  • 1/2 juice of lemon or lime
  • 1/2 tsp garlic granules
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp tahini
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • pinch chilli flakes oprional

Instructions
 

  • blend all ingredients

Notes

Ensure your peas are completely defrosted
Best eaten on the day to retain colour vibrancy
Petit pois are best..not regular peas
